Video of making the chair

Final Design

Prototype 1:1 on Xanita

All parts of the chair before assembled into the chair

FAILURES....

need to be 90 degree, achieved by v cut

the gap is to wide to roll over, need to be in curve

the heat gun technique is not really nice for this part, should be a v cut.. looks neater..

cut too deep!

the chair height is too tall, needs to reduce a little bit more.. see my feet is hanging, they aren't touching the ground.

there's a failure in the slotting part in the front.. need to rethink how to slot that part correctly

1:1 prototype

drawing & measuring the chair pattern on the cardboard.

cutting the board

put all the pieces into one chair

finish!!

After making the prototype, I realize there are some minor faulty like the slotting line that does not have to be straight but should be in the same direction as the chair shape. That's why I should redo some part in order to produce accurate measurement for the chair.

foldschool

Foldschool is a collection of free cardboard furniture for kids, handmade by you. Mass culture is run by superficiality and ecological absurdity. Foldschool supports craftsmanship as a face-to-face approach to design and brings together product and user the closest possible. The mindset of foldschool is to restore design to one of its original missions: to provide a product at an affordable price through a smart manufacturing process.
